Finally! My first round of instructional videos.

I put together some videos

to demonstrate what I look for in my early season scouting. I’m hoping this will help answer some of the questions I get regarding the type of hunting I do. Although they’re generic in form, I’m hoping they will shed some light on some of these topics. I’ll have a whole new wave of videos next week to post too!

At the end of the videos, you’ll see a box pop-up with a link to another video. I hope you get something useful from them!

Hi Marc- Good stuff here. I really enjoyed the videos. I have a scenario that I want your opinion to help settle a “philsophical difference of opinion” that my hunting partner and I have. I notice in two videos you have at least one very established logging trail that appears to be mowed. I have a very similar situation in my timber. My question to you pertains to HUMAN use of that trail. One of us argues that because deer use it so much because it is the path of least resistance- that we should stay off it while going to/from our stands. The other one of us feels that using it (assuming we are as scent free as possible) is a good thing as we are able to get to our stand much quicker and quieter than travelling 10 yds off it. Do you have any thoughts that might, settle this fireside issue we often have? A cold beer and an “I told you so” are riding on it. :) Thanks!

Well I hate to be the one hated here (and I will be by one of you) but I would take the trail for sure! If you’re clean going in and out, chances are they won’t notice your scent, especially if you’re moving at a normal pace. Of course there is a chance for scent detection, but even if that happens, it will be minimal unless you use it every day. I like to break up my entry and exit routes each and every time I hunt, for that very reason. One last point; you’ll make more noise, especially in the dark, trying to fight the thick stuff along the way to your stand! I do my best to never let them know I’m in the woods! Of course, this is just my opinion, so if you have to buy the beer, you can just say I don’t know what I’m talking about :-)

I will enjoy my ice cold beer! Just the answer I wanted to hear. Thanks Judge Marc!

Awesome instructional videos Marc! These help shed a little light on the buck i’m after after you talking about the trail signs. I have a spot the is up next to a field corner and loaded with white oaks. This is a flat that has a ridge on 2 sides and a strip of woods that connects to the corner of the flat. Which had very thick cover but, I’ve never seen any mature bucks near this. Think I’m hunting this at the wrong times? I know they bed there sometimes through the night cause of the pics i’ve gotten.

Hey Mark. Just signed up. I got your suit from Cabelas. When you hunt all day do you carry a pack? And if still hunting do you carry it under the suit?

    Thanks John

    • Marc Anthony says:

      Hi John,

I carry a small pack with food and water in it. It straps around my waist under the suit. I don’t still hunt much, but when I do, I carry it with me. Good luck this year!

      Marc
